MBA in Globalization

To be considered for admission on the MBA in Globalization at the Kenichi Ohmae Graduate School of Business, applicants must complete an online application by one of the 4 admissions deadlines. The complete application consists of:

  2. Essays
  3. Two Letters of Recommendation
  4. Official Transcript(s) of grades
  5. Graduation Certificate
  6. Photographs

1) Online Application Form

All application forms are now completed online. The online application requires your personal / contact details, employment history, educational history, and details of your qualifications and skills.

2) Essays

There are three mandatory essays and one which is optional. As the requisite subjects in the first year are in the Japanese language, essays are to be submitted in Japanese. We advise you to spend a considerable amount of time on the essays as they are a consequential part of the evaluation process.

Essay 1 (1000 Japanese characters)
Using concrete examples, explain your ideas on how the company you work for should globalize or further globalize its operations.


Essay 2 (800 to 1000 Japanese characters)
Please describe why you have chosen to put forward your candidacy to the MBA in Globalization program during this period of your life.


Essay 3 (800 to 1000 Japanese characters)
What are your short-and long-term career goals and how do you intend to attain them? How will the MBA in Globalization play a role in your career vision?


Essay 4 - optional
Describe any significant experiences related to your professional, academic or social life which you would like the admissions team to know about when considering your application. Explain the reasons why.


3) Two Recommendation Letters

Two references are required. They should provide us with information about your demonstrated management potential and leadership skills. In view of this, it is preferable that at least one comes from either your manager or a colleague. The other referee may be someone who has also had a chance to evaluate your abilities in a professional capacity, such as a former employer, a client, a colleague from your extracurricular activities and so forth.
The Kenichi Ohmae Graduate School of Business reserves the right to contact your referees for further information in connection with your application.

4) Official Transcript(s) of Grades

Applicants must submit a transcript listing grades for all studies undertaken at the last school attended. We accept transcripts in both English and Japanese. We only require copies at this stage of the application. If you are extended an offer, we will require an official transcript bearing the seal and signature of the institution and dated within 3 months of the application date. Transcripts in all other languages must be accompanied by a certified English or Japanese translation. Transcripts may be sent by the applicant or directly by the institution to the Kenichi Ohmae Graduate School of Business.
Please note that we will not be able to return original transcripts once received.


5) Graduation Certificate

In addition to the transcript of grades, students must send in their graduation certificate received at their last institution of study. The graduation certificate must bear the seal and signature of the institution and be dated within 3 months of the application date.


6) Photographs

Please attach 2 photographs (3cm X 4cm), taken within the past 6 months, to your supporting documents. Write your name and date of birth on the back of each photograph.
