Admissions Requirements

We welcome applications from all around the world. Our revolutionary learning platform and system of study brings together students globally who benefit from our courses and online campus. We look for students who will contribute proactively, share their knowledge and experiences gained throughout their professional and personal lives, are highly motivated to grow intellectually, and who possess strong communication and interpersonal skills. In addition, we endeavor to create a diverse student body with participants coming from various industries and who have differing aspirations, so that each individual can be shaped positively by his or her interactions with fellow students.
Applicants are asked to demonstrate their abilities through their application form, essays, references and interviews.


Global Leadership Potential and Professional Experience

The Kenichi Ohmae Graduate School of Business seeks applications from those exhibiting aptitude in global leadership roles. Your professional experience and achievements will thus be taken into consideration for the assessment. The work experience of our students ranges from 2 to 33, with the average being 10 years. Younger applicants who can present superior academic credentials, exceptional maturity and evidence of outstanding leadership may be granted admission. The students who benefit most from our MBA in Globalization and Globalization certificate programs are those with an international outlook and those who wish to expand on their international exposure.


Language Ability

The second year courses of the MBA program are all taught in English. To proceed onto the second year, in addition to passing all the management subjects in the first year, you will need to show proficiency in English, with at least a 850 TOEIC score. For the Globalization Certificate program, one of the entry requirements is the 850 TOEIC score. Please note that this requirement is not compulsory for applicants who have lived for an extended period in an English speaking country, or who have completed a degree conducted exclusively in the English language.


MBA in Globalization

Prospective students must satisfy at least one of the requirements set forth below:

  1. Hold a bachelor's degree and gained over 2 years work experience.
  2. Hold a master's degree and gained over 2 years work experience.
  3. Graduated junior college, gained over 5 years work experience and evaluated by the Kenichi Ohmae Graduate School of Business as having equal academic competence to university graduates.
  4. Completed high school, gained over 5 years work experience and evaluated by the Kenichi Ohmae Graduate School of Business as having equal or competence to university graduates.
  5. Completed 16 years of education overseas and gained over 2 years work experience.

Globalization Certificate

Prospective students must satisfy at least one of the requirements set forth below:

  1. Hold a bachelor's degree and gained over 2 years work experience.
  2. Hold a master's degree and gained over 2 years work experience.
  3. Over 22 years of age, gained over 5 years of work experience and evaluated by the Kenichi Ohmae Graduate School of Business as having equal or academic competence to university graduates.

Number of Students Admitted

The maximum number of students admissible into the MBA in Globalization is determined by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology.


Spring admission (Commencing April 1st):100
Autumn admission (Commencing October 1st):100


The aggregate number of annual admissions into the Kenichi Ohmae Graduate School of Business MBA programs in 2008, including the Japanese program, was 153.
