Course Outline/Objectives

Organizations are behavioral systems composed of many people organized in such a way that they will work cooperatively. The system can be broken down as follows:

  • Partial Responsibility of the Roles,
  • Grouping of the Roles,
  • Lines of Command System Among the Roles,
  • Information Transmission, and
  • Regulation of the Roles

In this course, an outline of organizational theory will be divided into two sides - the micro and the macro. Students will follow six themes and apply them to past and present organizations.

  • Leadership (Style, Organization Culture)
  • Individual Behavior (Motivation, Commitment)
  • Decision Making Process and Group Behavior (Decision Making, Communication)
  • Structure of the Organization (Design, Complexity)
  • Function of the Organization (Function, Line Staff, Adjustment Mechanism)
  • Organization Network (Network of the Organization, Grouping Organization)
