Professional Background
After graduating from the University of Tokyo's law department, Mr. Iishii began his career at Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Public Corporation. He served as manager of the planning department from 1983 and promoted the privatization of NTT under Mr. Hisashi Shinto, Governor of the corporation at that time. At the same time Mr. Iishii was also engaged in developing new businesses, establishing NTT card solution corporation, NTT leasing and NTT Urban Development Co. He later became a director of NTT and then Managing Director. In 1992 he assumed the post of President at NTT leasing. In addition he began investing in venture capital activities and realized the IPO of GPO Internet Inc., Plat'Home Co. Ltd and Cobalt NW Inc. Co. Mr. Iishi is currently the Director of Kenko.com Inc., a permanent advisor of Nichirei Corporation and a Director of Business Breakthrough Inc.
