Professional Background
In 1966, Mr. Yahagi joined IBM Japan where he worked in the development centre. He went on to work for IBM in the US and in other countries. In the latter half of the 1980s, he was promoted to General Manager of the Manufacturing Business Sales Department. In 1994, he became responsible for the management planning and re-engineering of the Business Development Division. Here he took charge of new business developments such as NII-CRM. In 1999 he became Permanent Auditor of the company. In 2003, he established the Han Institute for General Research and was inaugurated as chairperson. From 2000 to 2003, he served as Director of the Japan Corporate Auditor's Association. In addition he was a member of the following committees: "IT Governance Committee," "Audit System Committee," and "Audit Laws and Regulations Committee." Currently he supports the establishment of corporate governance by advising on internal administration issues. He is also the external auditor and advisor of many listed companies.
