GMBA Master Class: The Globalisation of Management Services

MBA in Globalization professor, Tim Coomber held a seminar on The Globalisation of Management Services at the Kenichi Ohmae Graduate School of Business's Akihabara campus on July 5th 2009.

The advances in information technology, notably the use of the Internet, have allowed service businesses to take advantage of low cost and educated workforces in developing countries. However, services are not the same as manufactured goods-different factors apply to the global spread of service provision. The class examined the effect of the current economic climate and questioned the commonly used terms "global" and "international".

Discussions led to recognising drivers that create the provision of global services, the kinds of services that apply to the global marketplace, and innovations that will enhance the globalisation of management services.
