Self-introduction

Allow me to explain a little bit about my professional background. I work for a company called Teraokaseiko, or Teraoka DIGI as we are branded overseas. Founded in 1934, the company manufactures and sells weighing scales and registers to retailers such as supermarkets and restaurant, and also to food and non-food factories. Last year, our consolidated sales were JPY70 billion, 30% of which was generated overseas. We have approximately 3,400 employees all over the world, about 900 of whom are located outside Japan.
I have worked for Teraokaseiko for 20 years. Currently I am responsible for one of our sales subsidiaries in Germany and, at the same time, I work in the global business planning division in our head office in Tokyo. In the latter role, I am responsible for managing relationships between global clients and our subsidiaries, which entails facilitating product development and manufacturing.
